Every week there’s a new AI tool promising to grow your business. Some of them really help. Many don’t. The difference usually comes down to one question: is AI solving a real problem in your business, or is it just a new tool?
Where AI genuinely helps
- Writing first drafts. Social media captions, product descriptions, offer messages and email replies, reviewed and edited by a person.
- Answering common questions. Timings, prices and process questions, with a human taking over when needed.
- Making sense of your data. Summarising sales, finding your best-selling products or spotting which enquiries convert.
- Repetitive work. Sending reminders, moving data between sheets and tools, and preparing routine reports.
Where AI doesn’t help
- It cannot fix a broken process. If follow-up doesn’t happen today, automating it won’t make customers trust you more.
- It does not understand your local customers the way you do.
- It should not talk to customers completely unsupervised, especially about prices, promises or complaints.
- It does not guarantee growth on its own.
How to start
- Pick one repetitive task that takes your team time every week.
- Try an AI tool on just that task for two to four weeks.
- Measure the time saved, and check the quality.
- Keep it if it works. Drop it if it doesn’t.
At WAAH Digital, we start with the business problem, not the technology. Sometimes AI is the answer. Sometimes the answer is a simpler process.
